Accessible beaches
Barcelona's seafront is among the most accessible stretches of urban coast in Europe, with continuous level promenades and support points at the main beaches in season.
Assistance points
Each of the main beaches runs a staffed accessible point in summer, with amphibious chairs, walking supports for the water and help getting down to and back from the shoreline.
Boardwalks and showers
Wooden walkways cross the sand at the access points, alongside accessible outdoor showers and changing rooms at the larger beaches.
Which beach to pick
Nova Icària combines calm water with a full service point, which makes it the usual recommendation. Bogatell is quieter, with a long, level approach from the promenade.
